Crash Bandicoot N’Sane Trilogy allows people to play through the classic Crash Bandicoot trilogy in a modern remaster. And now it’s even bringing cut levels back from the dead.
Activision released the infamous level Stormy Ascent as free DLC for the Crash Bandicoot N’Sane Trilogy on PlayStation 4 today, giving players a chance to try their hands at a level that was once deemed too difficult for publication. Crash Bandicoot developer Taylor Kurosaki said in a PlayStation blog post that he found it difficult despite being the one that designed it.
“It was one of the last levels I finished during production, and as we prepared to deliver our Gold Master to Sony for manufacturing, the decision was made to cut it,” Kurosaki said in the blog. “It was playable, but just too damn difficult, and we ran out of time to make it easier.”
Stormy Ascent was still on the game disc, though, and players could access it with a GameShark cheat disc. Now you can try the infamous, slippery, incredibly difficult level legitimately. And for free.
