That was unexpected.
It wasn’t a surprise to see Bethesda Softworks reveal Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus during its pre-E3 briefing. Everything shown in the 8-minute first look, however, was a total surprise.
What starts as a jarring look at live-action and animated TV in a Nazi-controlled alternate history eventually transforms into an increasingly bizarre series of scenes from that world. It’s the 1960s now, which means Nazi overlords are clashing with counter-culture, open racism, and rampant drug experimentation.
This is some weird shit, folks. I can’t wait to play it when it arrives on Oct. 27, 2017.
