Have you managed to find any of the Korok Seeds in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Did you know: there are 900 of them to collect?
There’s a reward if you manage to find every single one of them. A golden surprise to acknowledge all the work you put into locating one of the largest collectible challenges ever seen in video games.
It’s poop. As in, an actual pile of golden sh*t appears in Link’s inventory. You can’t do anything with it. Think of the poop as more of a trophy. A badge of honor. You trudged through 900 damn Korok Seeds, so here’s a pile of sh*t to remind you of that accomplishment.
“It smells pretty bad,” the description reads. No kidding, video game. It’s a mound of feces.
The discovery of Zelda‘s crappiest reward appears to have surfaced first on Reddit, in a post from xFateAwaitsx. Before you shout that the image provided as proof might be a Photoshop — which would make xFateAwaitsx full of… you get the idea — it’s confirmed in the game’s strategy guide.
To fully appreciate the scale of the achievement it’s worth knowing how Korok Seeds work in Zelda. They tend to appear in locations that look unusual. If you happen upon a spinning pinwheel or a lone rock at the top of a mountain that you can dig up, there’s probably a Korok Seed to be found.
Collected seeds can be traded in to Hestu, a giant, talking plant creature that loves to dance and shake maracas. Every batch of seeds you fork over increases your weapon, bow, or shield inventories. In other words: the seeds themselves are useful.
The poop? Not so much. It appears in the “Key Items” section of Link’s inventory. You can stare at it, you can read the description… and that’s about all.
Here it is: photographic evidence of Zelda‘s sh*t trophy.
